Spotlight on Jack-January 21st, 2010

Do you know how to identify the letters in Jack's name? Jack does! When I asked him to tell me what the letters in his name were in an activity he completed at school this is what he said...
J...."hook"
a..."a round letter with a kickstand"
c...."this one rolls away"
k....."this one is Kayleigh's name"
He is so cute! I love this way to identify letters!

Spotlight on Jack

Ice Skating with Jack
Last Friday when Kayleigh was at school Jack and I had some quality time together to go ice skating at the park near our home. He was so excited. I think he expects to skate well right away. He is trying and gets so happy to go. Unfortunately it was a bit cooler than when Kayleigh and I went the day before. However, we had fun and enjoyed the time together. He especially enjoyed it when I let him sit on the chair and I pushed him around on the ice.
He thinks he is such a tough guy. When he is nothing but a cutie!

Jack gives it a try with the chair. I think he thought he was going to zoom around. But he was building his confidence!

I'm doing it!

I loved skating with Mommy!

Ice skating was a lot of fun! I can't wait to do it again. Now we just need some cold weather for the ice to freeze again. Maybe next time we can go with Daddy!

Bounce U

Over Winter Break we headed over to Bounce U with the Hesters for some fun. I think Jim, Greg and Bill had just as much as the kids. Kayleigh couldn't get enough of the big slide and Jack loved going through the obstacles. He even loved climbing up the wall to the two big slides. The kids did great. Kayleigh flew down the slides! I think she even caught air going down the slide in the sack.
Jim gets a turn!

Here I come!

I'm going really, really fast!

Kayleigh is crazy!

Belly time!

Jack climbs up to go down the slide in the obstacle course!

Here's Jack!

Look how fast Jack is going!

Such a brave little guy!

Jim and Jack have a blast playing together.

Pictures of the Week

Fun in the Tub!
The kids sport some serious hair styles!
How do you like this do Mom?
A Mohawk goes with Jack's personality. All it needs is some color...maybe green!

Sledding Fun~the first of the New Year

We had to get out and go sledding one day over Christmas break. However we had to pick the coldest day of the week. Usually Kayleigh is a champion and loves the cold, but on this day she was miserable. She got snow up her snowsuit and was done. Jack on the other hand, had a blast and wouldn't be taken off the hill. Even with his cheeks bright red, he wanted to keep going. It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the wind. It was bitter cold! Hopefully we'll get some more snow so we can go again. Especially now that Jack likes being outside.
Our Snow Princess isn't too happy to be outside today!

The kids at their best....getting along! We are heading back to the car to head home after a few good runs!

Here comes Jim trying to reach us at the bottom of the hill. Keep pushing!

Jim waits for Kayleigh to make it down to the bottom!

Happy Jack despite the wind nipping at his rosy red cheeks. He had a blast. Only if it wasn't so cold!

Kayleigh's Swimming Lessons

Kayleigh started swimming lessons two weeks ago. She hasn't been to official swimming lessons since she was about 18 months. After a bumpy start she quickly became a fish in the water like we knew she would. She loves the water during the summer. It was a matter of her becoming comfortable in the pool again. By the second week, she was talking up a storm and taking over the class. She even jumped in, got her head wet and blew bubbles. She won't be an eel for long.
There she goes....

She swims with just a noodle during the summer. So this is nothing!

Keep on kicking...

What's New with Kayleigh?

Kayleigh Skates
Last week I took Kayleigh up to the park near our house to go ice skating. Jack was at school so it was nice to have time with just her. We had some nice Mommy and Daughter Time. The chair helped Kayleigh be confident to stand by herself. She is so determined that she just wanted to push the chair herself. I was hoping the weather would stay cold at night so we could keep going. It was beautiful winter weather, warm enough to be outside for a long time.
Kayleigh gets comfortable on the ice.

You are doing great Kay!

After skating pose. She is just too cute and so proud of herself!
